Overview

What OneDrive Does and Why Connect It

OneDrive is the file storage in Microsoft 365, often used together with SharePoint for shared team libraries.

Odoo does not ship a native OneDrive file-storage module, so the integration is a custom or third-party build. It suits Microsoft 365 organisations that want Odoo documents to live in their existing OneDrive or SharePoint structure.

Data Flow

What Data Moves Between OneDrive and Odoo

The integration uses the Microsoft Graph API.

  • Odoo to OneDrive: attachments and generated documents pushed to mapped folders or libraries.
  • OneDrive to Odoo: file links referenced from records.
What Goes Wrong

Common Pitfalls

  • No native module. Plan for a custom build and its maintenance.
  • Graph permissions. An Azure app registration with the right Files permissions and admin consent is required.
  • OneDrive versus SharePoint. Personal OneDrive and SharePoint libraries are addressed differently in Graph.
  • Folder mapping. A clear record-to-folder structure is needed.
  • Token refresh. Microsoft tokens expire and must be refreshed.
Setup

How the Integration Is Set Up

  1. Choose the integration approach and confirm maintenance ownership.
  2. Register an Azure app with the required Files permissions.
  3. Decide OneDrive or SharePoint as the target and define folder mapping.
  4. Build and test the attachment push.
  5. Confirm permissions and admin consent.
  6. Schedule the sync and monitor token refresh.
