Odoo Google Workspace Integration

Google Workspace is the everyday productivity suite for many organisations: Gmail, Calendar, Contacts and single sign-in.

Odoo includes native support for several Google Workspace pieces, so much of this integration is configuration rather than custom development. It lets Odoo work alongside the tools the team already uses each day, without duplicating the calendar or a second login.

The integration uses Google APIs through an OAuth application.

• Calendar: Odoo calendar events and Google Calendar kept in two-way sync.
• Gmail: outgoing and incoming mail handled through the user's Google account.
• Sign-in: users authenticate to Odoo with their Google Workspace account.

• OAuth setup. A Google Cloud project with the right APIs enabled and consent screen configured is required.
• Scopes and verification. Sensitive scopes can require Google app verification.
• Calendar conflicts. Two-way calendar sync needs clear rules so an edit on one side does not fight the other.
• Admin consent. Some Workspace settings require an administrator to approve the app.
• Token refresh. OAuth tokens expire and must be refreshed.

1. Create a Google Cloud project and enable the required APIs.
2. Configure the OAuth consent screen and credentials.
3. Enable calendar sync, Gmail and Google sign-in in Odoo settings.
4. Test each piece with a pilot user.
5. Obtain admin consent where needed.
6. Roll out and monitor token refresh.
