Microsoft Teams is the daily collaboration hub for organisations on Microsoft 365. Business events in Odoo are easy to miss if the team lives in Teams.
Odoo does not ship a native Teams module, so the integration is a custom or third-party build. Two common goals: push Odoo notifications into Teams channels, and attach Teams meeting links to Odoo calendar events or scheduled activities.
Data Flow
What Data Moves Between Microsoft Teams and Odoo
The integration uses Teams incoming webhooks and the Microsoft Graph API.
Odoo to Teams: event notifications posted to channels, and Teams meeting links created for Odoo calendar events.
What Goes Wrong
Common Pitfalls
No native module. Plan for a custom build and its maintenance.
Microsoft identity. Graph API access needs an app registration with the right permissions and admin consent.
Notification noise. Choose events deliberately to keep channels useful.
Meeting ownership. A Teams meeting is created under a Microsoft 365 user, which must be handled.
Token refresh. Microsoft access tokens expire and must be refreshed.
Setup
How the Integration Is Set Up
Choose the integration approach and confirm maintenance ownership.
Register an application in Microsoft identity with the needed Graph permissions.
Set up incoming webhooks for the target Teams channels.
Select the Odoo events to notify and whether meeting links are needed.
Build and test the notification and meeting flows.
