UPS is a global carrier widely used for parcel shipping. Running UPS separately from Odoo creates the usual rekeying of weights, addresses and tracking numbers.
Odoo provides a native UPS connector, available in the Enterprise edition, that rates, labels and tracks UPS shipments from the delivery order. On Community the same needs a third-party app or a custom build.
Data Flow
What Data Moves Between UPS and Odoo
The native connector calls the UPS API in real time.
Odoo to UPS: rate and shipment requests with weight, dimensions and addresses.
UPS to Odoo: rate quotes, labels and tracking numbers.
