Odoo DHL Integration

DHL is a global carrier strong in international shipping. Handling DHL outside Odoo means rekeying shipment data and tracking numbers between systems.

Odoo provides a native DHL connector, available in the Enterprise edition, that rates, labels and tracks DHL shipments from the delivery order. The Community edition needs a third-party app or a custom build for the same.

The native connector calls the DHL API in real time.

• Odoo to DHL: rate requests and shipment requests on delivery validation.
• DHL to Odoo: rate quotes, labels and tracking numbers.

• Edition. The native connector is an Enterprise feature.
• DHL products. DHL has several services and regional products that must map to Odoo delivery methods.
• Customs data. International shipments need accurate commodity and value data.
• Account access. A DHL account with API access is required.
• Product data. Weight and dimensions must be complete for accurate rating.

1. Confirm the Odoo edition or plan an alternative.
2. Obtain DHL API credentials and add the DHL delivery method.
3. Map DHL products to Odoo delivery methods.
4. Ensure product weight, dimensions and customs data are complete.
5. Test rating and labels on a sample delivery.
6. Move to production and verify tracking.
