Overview

What Flipkart Does and Why Connect It

Flipkart is a major Indian marketplace. Sellers list against Flipkart's catalogue and fulfil orders through self-ship or Flipkart's fulfilment network.

Odoo has no native Flipkart connector, so integration is a third-party app or a custom build on the Flipkart Marketplace API. It makes Odoo the back office for Flipkart sales, with Indian tax handled correctly.

Data Flow

What Data Moves Between Flipkart and Odoo

The integration uses the Flipkart Marketplace Seller API.

  • Flipkart to Odoo: orders, customers, commissions and returns.
  • Odoo to Flipkart: listings, prices, stock and dispatch confirmations.
  • Two-way: inventory.
What Goes Wrong

Common Pitfalls

  • GST mapping. Indian tax must map correctly so Flipkart orders post with the right GST treatment in Odoo.
  • Fulfilment models. Self-ship and Flipkart-fulfilled orders behave differently and need separate handling.
  • No native module. Plan for a connector app or a custom build and its maintenance.
  • Returns volume. Marketplace returns need a clear path back into Odoo stock and accounting.
  • Commission reconciliation. Flipkart commissions and fees must map to Odoo accounts.
