Etsy is a marketplace for handmade, craft and made-to-order goods. Sellers manage listings on Etsy and fulfil orders themselves.
Odoo has no native Etsy connector, so integration is a third-party app or a custom build on the Etsy Open API. It is most useful when an Etsy shop sells alongside other channels and needs one stock and finance back office.
Data Flow
What Data Moves Between Etsy and Odoo
The integration uses the Etsy Open API v3 with OAuth.
Etsy to Odoo: receipts (orders), buyers, transactions and fees.
Odoo to Etsy: listing quantities and shipment notifications.
Two-way: inventory.
What Goes Wrong
Common Pitfalls
Listing renewal model. Etsy listings expire and renew, which the integration must account for.
Made-to-order. Items produced to order do not behave like stocked goods and need a deliberate inventory approach.
No native module. Plan for a connector app or a custom build and its upkeep.
Rate limits. The Etsy API is rate limited, so syncs are paced.
Personalisation fields. Buyer personalisation notes must carry through to Odoo so production has them.
